(2) Sheldon House
This Folk Victorian style house located 3109 W. 76th Avenue was built in 1930. On January 8, 1929, Oren K. Sheldon purchased five acres of land from Pleasant DeSpain Jr. This property was a part of the original DeSpain Orchard homesteaded in the 1870s.

ARCHITECTURAL DESCRIPTION
This two -story, pyramidal roofed house is typical of the Folk Victorian style popular between 1870 and 1910. It has a symmetrical façade, with a partial front porch that also has a hipped roof. The porch supports are simple turned posts. The flared eaves of the roof fits with the simple decorative elements of this house and those, combined with the two chimneys, is reminiscent of a French Chateau style.
