(41) Berkeley Gardens Elementary School
This Eclectic style building is located at 5301 Lowell Boulevard.
The school opened in September 1917 and at the time was the third school in Westminster.
ARCHITECTURAL DESCRIPTION
This schoolhouse was originally made of red brick and had only three rooms.
The photograph shows Craftsman style elements which include:
a low pitched, hipped roof with a front gabled enclosed porch entrance.
The exterior is a solid brick wall cladding with 2 courses, a dark course surrounds most of the building and a lighter course that accents the entrance to the school. Rectangular windows in a ribbon style
(three or more windows together) also add to the Craftsman features.
