(13) Mellette/Hurlbert House
This Folk Vernacular style house is located at 7595 Bradburn Boulevard. It was originally built on several acres of land purchased in 1892, by M.H. Mellette and his wife Emma Mellette. They resided here for only a few years and sold the house to the Hurlbert family in the early 1900s.

ARCHITECTURAL DESCRIPTION
This one- story, gabled front and wing plan is another example of a wood-framed folk house built when lumber and windows were readily available because of the railway. Windows and doors are very basic and the exterior is wood rather than brick. In this photograph, shutters of a different color have been added for contrast.
