Westminster Municipal Court warrants are issued for failure to appear in court at a scheduled court date or for failure to comply with other orders of the court. The judge issuing the warrant will set a dollar amount of bail (bond amount). In addition to the bond set by the judge, a $50 warrant fee is imposed on each warrant issued.
To take care of a warrant, you can appear at the court Monday or Wednesday 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. to go before the judge and have the warrant quashed. If you are under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must accompany you.If you are unable to appear in court at the above days and times, you can post the bond amount, in cash, at the front counter and be given a new court date to be seen.The bond posted may be paid by yourself, another person, or through the services of a commercial surety bail bonding agency.
OJW (Outstanding Judgment Warrant) holds are placed on your license in compliance with Colorado State Statutes and the Division of Motor Vehicles when you fail to appear or comply with conditions of a traffic summons or any type of summons issued to a juvenile. The fee of $30 for an OJW is assessed by the court. Once an OJW is imposed, the Department of Motor Vehicles will contact you to clear this with the court or they can impose sanctions on your license up to revocation of your license.Additional fees can also be assessed.
