The City of Westminster has four community gardens.
Elm Tree Gardens
Allison Community Garden
Windmill Community Garden
If you are interested in creating a community garden, the following criteria must be met:
- high density/limited private yards
- water availability
- implementation ease (grading, etc.)
- unserved by other gardens
The most important element in determining a location for a community garden is neighborhood support. Before a garden is considered, a public meeting is held to listen to concerns, support and suggestions. Support from residents surrounding the garden is crucial.
If a neighborhood is interested in a community garden, residents can contact Patti Wright at firstname.lastname@example.org or 303-658-2201, so the site can be assessed and placed on a potential garden location list. Gardens will be developed as budget allows.
