Concepts shared on proposed Bradburn/Raleigh realignment
(Jan 26, 2012)
Approximately 70 people attended a public open house presentation of concepts for improvements to the 72nd Avenue corridor near Bradburn Boulevard and Raleigh Street.
The concepts include a potential realignment of Bradburn Boulevard to improve traffic operations and safety in that area, and are among the recommendations contained in the 72nd Avenue Planning Study - Meade to Utica (2009).
Comments and concerns were collected and will be included in an environmental evaluation being done as a follow-up to the planning effort.
The city has received federal funding commitments of $1.8 million for replacement of the poorly rated structure carrying 72nd Avenue over Little Dry Creek at the Raleigh Street intersection.
Construction of a new bridge and improvements to 72nd Avenue and Raleigh Street are expected to begin in 2013.
