Council selects Seitz for vacant council seat

Westminster City Council selected Anita Seitz to fill the vacant council seat created when former Councillor Herb Atchison was sworn in as mayor.
During the council meeting on Monday, Dec. 9, City Council unanimously selected Seitz out of 14 residents that applied for the vacancy.
Seitz was sworn in that evening and will finish the balance of Atchison’s term which was set to expire in Nov. 2015.
Seitz has been a resident of Westminster since 2011. She was formerly the vice president of marketing for a locally-owned and operated employee benefits brokerage; she left in 2010 to further her education.
Seitz completed her Master’s in Business Administration with a Healthcare Management focus from Regis University in December 2013. She is also the mother of three young children.
Seitz serves on the Board of the Colorado Association of Healthcare Executives, and is a former board member of the Front Range Association of Health Underwriters. She is a past member of National Association of Health Underwriters and the Colorado Association of Health Underwriters.
According to the City Charter and the Municipal Code, any council vacancy must be filled within 30 days by a majority vote of the remaining members of City Council, otherwise there must be a vote of the people.
