New mayor, council sworn in

Westminster’s new mayor and councillors were sworn in to office during a Nov. 11 ceremony at Westminster City Hall.

Herb Atchison was sworn in as mayor, as were councillors Bruce Baker, Alberto Garcia and Emma Pinter. All will served four-year terms that end in November 2017. Following the seating of the new council, Faith Winter was re-elected as mayor pro tem. Bob Briggs also continues as a member of council.

With Atchison’s election to mayor, a vacancy on the City Council is created. Applications to fill the vacancy are being accepted until Nov. 21. More details on the process are available here.

Departing from City Council were Mayor Nancy McNally and councillors Mary Lindsey, Mark Kaiser and Scott Major. All four were term limited.


Mayor Herb Atchison is sworn in to office by Westminster Municipal Judge John Stipech.  Councillor Emma Pinter is sworn in to office by Westminster Municipal Judge John Stipech.  Councillor Bruce Baker is sworn in to office by Westminster Municipal Judge John Stipech.  Councillor Alberto Garcia is sworn in to office by Commerce City Municipal Judge David Juarez.
