DigitalGlobe coming to Westminster
(Oct 17, 2013)
DigitalGlobe, a leader in the provision of commercial high-resolution earth observation and advanced geospatial solutions, announced it is moving its Colorado headquarters to Westminster.
The information/communications company will bring over 1,400 employees to its new location at I-25 and 120th Avenue by early 2015, at which time it will be the largest primary employer in the city.
DigitalGlobe’s decision to move to Westminster was driven by a real estate deal for a landmark technology facility that has been occupied over the years by Western Electric, AT&T, Bell Labs, Lucent Technology and Avaya.
The company sites the building’s in-place infrastructure and physical security as one factor in its decision to opt for this site.
The company, currently located in Longmont, was also interested in being located more centrally to its current workforce and more proximate to future workforce needed for anticipated growth.
“We are delighted to welcome DigitalGlobe to our community," said Susan Grafton, Economic Development Manager. "Their decision to choose Westminster as their new corporate home reinforces our position as a center for technology business.”
