Impacts of US 36 Express Lanes Project
(Oct 25, 2012)
Following are U.S. 36 Express Lanes Project closures impacting Westminster for the week of Oct. 28:
Federal Boulevard to Sheridan Boulevard - Single Lane Closures Nightly
Various single lane and shoulder closures continue this week, 10 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. on east and westbound U.S. 36 from Federal to Sheridan boulevards. The lane reduction is necessary to accommodate new roadway construction.
Sheridan Boulevard to Church Ranch/104th - Daytime paving and single lane closures nightly
Temporary pavement installation will begin this week on the westbound side of U.S. 36 between Sheridan and Church Ranch boulevards. This work will be done during the day and will not impact traffic. The temporary pavement will be placed behind the temporary barrier. Also, expect various nightly single lane and shoulder closures in this area for median removal and striping.Work will take place from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
Big Dry Creek Trail Closure
The Big Dry Creek Trail remains closed between the West 103rd Avenue trail intersection and the Westminster Boulevard trail undercrossing. The closure allows crews to reconstruct the undercrossing. A detour route that utilizes 104th Avenue is in place and signed.
Church Ranch/104th to Wadsworth Boulevard - Upcoming U.S. 287 off-ramp closure
The eastbound U.S. 287 off-ramp on U.S. 36 will be closed to all through traffic for paving operations in mid- to late November. This closure will take place between 7 p.m. on a Friday night through 5:30 a.m. Monday morning. All U.S. 36 eastbound traffic needing to access this exit ramp will be detoured to Church Ranch Boulevard. Exact dates, details and detours will be released as we approach this closure. All detours will be clearly marked.
Planned construction activities are subject to change due to weather and unanticipated schedule changes. Visit CDOT's website for the latest information about the project.
