Wastewater treatment facility receives high praises
(Mar 22, 2012)
On March 15, the Big Dry Creek Wastewater Treatment Facility hosted a training exercise for approximately 50 individuals from the state and the federal government. Officials from all over the nation from the Environmental Protection Agency and officials from Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment conducted the training and commented that the knowledge of the staff and the willingness to assist was incredible.
Big Dry Creek was in peak condition and treatment was perfect. EPA asked Big Dry Creek to host this event again, another huge honor coming from federal government officials.
The regulators of this training were so impressed that the local officials would like to come back for more in-depth training. This is a great honor bestowed on a wastewater facility.
Big Dry Creek is known throughout the Denver metro area and the state as having one of the cleanest, most efficient and technologically advanced plants.
In addition to the EPA and CDPHE conducting training at the facility during the morning, a CU Boulder biosolids class came out to tour in the afternoon and discussed the biosolids operation. Staff at Big Dry Creek impressed the class and received several comments on how well the program is run. Instructors and students alike commented on how efficient and professionally run the facility is.
Congratulations to all the staff at Big Dry Creek for once again representing the City of Westminster in the best possible light.
