Council approves utility commitments for two new projects
(Jan 26, 2012)
Two proposed developments received approval this week from City Council for utility service commitments in the annual residential growth management competition.
The projects include the Westminster Lofts on the Creek, Multi-Family project (a proposed 264 apartment units to be built on an 8.9-acre site at the southeast corner of Westcliff Parkway and Church Ranch Way) and The Village at Westminster City Center, Traditional Mixed Use Neighborhood Development project (a proposed 200 apartment units to be built on a 3.76-acre site at the southeast corner of City Center Drive and Sheridan Boulevard).
As part of its Growth Management Program, the city conducts an annual competitive process for developers interested in proposing new residential projects in Westminster. This process helps the city balance growth, as well as manage water and sewer services.
The approval of utility service commitments for these projects enables them to proceed to the city’s development review process.
Both projects hope to begin in 2012.
