Public comment sought for federal grant projects
(Dec 08, 2011)
The City of Westminster is soliciting public comments on how the Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) funding should be allocated in 2012, as part of the city’s proposed 2012 Action Plan and Citizen Participation Plan.
CDBG funds are allocated each year by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and are available for projects that benefit the city’s low- and moderate-income residents, and to alleviate blight.
Recent CDBG money has been used for the on-going Emergency and Minor Home Repair Program, and the realignment of Bradburn Boulevard between 73rd and 72nd avenues.
The 2012 Action Plan recommends continued funding of these projects.
Public comment is invited from Dec. 12 through Jan. 10, 2012.
The full texts of the plans will be available beginning Dec. 12 for review and input on the Community Development Block Grant page of the city website.
