City recognizes volunteers
(Jul 21, 2014)
Nearly 400 volunteers and their families attended the city's volunteer appreciation barbecue on July 9.
Each year the city recognizes volunteers who support city services and programs in such areas as open space, golf courses, libraries, snowbusters, victim advocates and much more.
In 2013, there were more than 1,000 volunteers who worked 51,000 hours, which is an average of 40 hours of service per volunteer. The dollar value for these hours is more than $1 million.
The city thanks all of the volunteers who make Westminster a great place to live, work and play.
