Electronics recycling event a huge success
(Nov 21, 2013)
Participation in this years electronics recycling event tripled compared to last year.
In celebration of America Recycles Day, 150 cars brought 13,137 pounds of electronic waste for recycling. This is more than six tons of electronics.
This year, the State of Colorado passed a bill prohibiting the disposal of electronic devices in landfills, making the collection event a timely opportunity for recycling.
The event helped launch the city’s "Westminster Proud We Recycle!" campaign.
Every trash collector licensed in Westminster is required to offer curbside recycling and the campaign asks residents and businesses to recycle what they can at their curb.
Based on recycling reports submitted by trash collectors, it costs on average 10 cents per day to recycle curbside at a single-family home.
Contact your trash collector today and start recycling at your curb.
