Come visit Standley Lake
(Oct 10, 2013)
Although the boating and camping season at Standley Lake is over for 2013, the park still has a lot to offer.
There are nearly 14 miles of trails throughout the park that can be enjoyed by foot or bike, and the mountain views are unbeatable.
Some of the best shoreline fishing can also be enjoyed at Standley Lake. Whether using bait or lures, more than 13 varieties of fish are waiting to be caught.
Wildlife viewing is another fun activity. Bring binoculars and a camera to see how many critters you can find.
Each year, the boating and camping season runs May 1 through Sept. 30.
While boating and camping is not allowed from Oct. 1 through April 30, shoreline fishing is allowed from sunrise to sunset. State of Colorado fishing regulations must be observed when fishing at Standley Lake. The use of aquatic bait (leeches, crayfish, etc.) is strictly prohibited.
Check the Standley Lake website or call the Nature Center for any questions, 303-425-1097.
The lottery process for the 2014 boating season will start in early January 2014.
Details will be available on the Standley Lake website in late December 2013.
