(Sep 16, 2013)
Following is the latest information on storm impacts in Westminster.
As of 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 16, Old Wadsworth Boulevard is open again from 103rd to 106th avenues. All Westminster roadways remain open and passable at this time.
City drinking water quality remains normal but adjustments are being made to our water treatment process to address storm impacts on Standley Lake, the city's primary water supply.
The treatment adjustments ensure the quality of water being delivered to our customers meets or exceeds all applicable drinking water standards.
If conditions change the city will post advisories on its website and via Facebook and Twitter.
Standley Lake remains safe and has not been threatened by the recent storm.
The lake did receive a large volume of water but water levels have never approached the spillway levels.
Diversions from Clear Creek were discontinued in order to make space for uncontrolled storm water inflows.
Staff continues to closely monitor the situation and is making adjustments to treatment to ensure the quality of water being delivered to our customers meets or exceeds all applicable drinking water standards.
City crews will be working on repairing the trail system in the coming weeks after the intense week of flooding but residents are still urged to use the utmost caution when using the trails.
