Schools invited to enter "Recycle-Bowl" and video contest

(Oct 23, 2013)

Keep America Beautiful’s third annual “Recycle-Bowl” is a nationwide recycling competition for elementary, middle and high school students.

Between Oct. 21 and Nov. 15, schools track and report how much the school recycled with chances to win prizes through Keep America Beautiful.

Enter your school today on the Recycle-Bowl website

As an added incentive, the city is asking Westminster students to submit videos of how their school improved recycling during the competition and why recycling is important.

Each student who submits a video by Nov. 15, will receive one Day Pass to any of the Westminster Recreation Centers.

Video winners within the three categories of grades 4-5, 6-8 and 9-12 will receive special recognition by the city for their efforts and the video will be featured on the city’s website.

For details on the video contest, visit the city’s “Westminster Proud We Recycle” education campaign web page

The Westminster Proud We Recycle campaign encourages businesses and residents to contact their trash collector and start recycling today.
