“Fascinated with Fishing” class
(Jul 09, 2013)
Join us at Standley Lake Regional Park on Saturday August 24, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and learn how to tie on a hook, the anatomy of a fish, what it is to be an “ethical angler” and how to handle fish the right way.
We will fish at Loon Lake, behind the dam. We'll hike from the visitor center to the lake, so bring water and wear appropriate clothing/shoes.
Fishing poles will be provided to children only. If parents want to fish, you must have a fishing license and your own fishing pole. If children have their own poles, we encouraged you to bring them. Some bait will be provided, mainly salmon eggs from PowerBait.
This class is free, is intended for ages 6 and up and is limited to 30 children and 30 adults.
If you drive into the park, the $7 entrance fee must be paid, or you can park and walk in for free from the parking lot at 100th and Owens streets.
For information or to register, call the visitor’s center at 303-425-1097.
