Police offer free Shred-A-Thon
(May 16, 2013)
Join the Westminster Police Department on Saturday, May 18, from 7 a.m. to noon as Shred-It provides free on-site shredding of your personal documents (bank statements, bills, old tax returns, etc.) during the fifth annual Shred-A-Thon.
Shredding will take place in the east parking lot of the Westminster Public Safety Center, 9110 Yates St. To help speed the process, police will direct residents into the parking lot via Yates Street and have traffic exit on 92nd Avenue.
Shred-It will accept three paper boxes per vehicle. All shredding is done on-site using commercial-size shredders. The resulting confetti-like material is bailed and sent to be recycled.
The shredders will chew through metal binders and clips, so there is no need to remove staples, paperclips or other metal pieces.
This event is also a fundraiser for Crime Stoppers, and donations are encouraged.
Contact Investigator Trevor Materasso at 303-658-4427 or firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
