South Westminster capital projects approved; input still needed
(Jan 10, 2013)
The City of Westminster receives an annual appropriation of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The city anticipates about $500,000 in funding in 2013, which were proposed to be invested in projects in the South Westminster area.
City Council recently approved the following projects for 2013 CDBG funding:
- CDBG administration;
- land acquisitions and building demolition relative to the Bradburn Boulevard realignment project;
- expansion of the Rodeo Market Community Arts Center park to the north side of facility;
- feasibility study relative to operations and building enhancement to the Westminster Grange and Rodeo Market buildings; and
- sidewalk and streetscape enhancements to 76th Avenue adjacent to Torii Square Park.
The city is soliciting comments on the 2013 Action Plan on the approved projects listed above for the CDBG funds, as well as how HOME Investment Partnership Act funding should be allocated in 2013.
The city is also soliciting comments on the proposed Neighborhood Revitalization Strategy Area Plan to reinvest in the South Westminster area.
Both draft plans are available online. To provide written comments through Jan. 12, or for further information, contact Senior Projects Coordinator Tony Chacon at firstname.lastname@example.org or 303-658-2129.
