SWIM AND FITNESS CENTER - GUEST SERVICES ASSISTANT - Meet and greet customers. Assist customers by showing them around the center, giving them general information, telling them about the different programs and showing them how the lockers work. Minimum age is 18 years. Available Monday through Sunday in the evenings. Hours are flexible. Three-month commitment.
CITY PARK RECREATION CENTER - POTTERY STUDIO:
- CLAY RECYCLER - Plug clay - 8 hours per month
- GLAZE MIXER - Mix glaze - 2 to 4 hours per week
- OPEN STUDIO ATTENDANT - Supervise student use of studio during assigned drop-in hours. General studio maintenance. - 4 hours per week
- STUDIO MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT - General cleaning of studio equipment. Grinding of kiln shelves. Raku yard cleanup. - 4 hours per week
Must attend an 8 week/3 hours each week Pottery Studio Class at Westminster City Park. Available Monday through Friday mornings (except Clay Recycler is also available in the afternoon). Length of commitment is variable.
FLOWER-BED PARTNERS - Responsible for the care of an assigned flower bed throughout the growing season which includes participating in the bed design, planting, weeding, and putting the bed "to bed" in the fall. Minimum age is 16 years or a group of younger volunteers supervised by an adult. Is a great family or Boy Scout/Girl Scout project or group project. Commitment is one growing season, basically May through October. Available Monday through Sunday; any hours.
GREENHOUSE ASSISTANT - Volunteer in Greenhouse or at various City Parks. Transplanting and preparing the soil February into April. End of May through end of first week of June: Load up plants in the greenhouse and take out to flower beds in the various city parks and plant the plants. Through out the summer: Weed and maintain the flower beds. Minimum age is 16 years. Available Monday through Friday in the morning or afternoon. Minimum commitment is 2 to 3 weeks.
YOUTH SOCCER COACH - Provide a safe and enjoyable environment for youth. Teach soccer, sportsmanship and teamwork. Forty to seventy-five hours per season. (There are two seasons: March through May and August through October.) Training provided is American Sport Education Program (ASEP - must become certified) and soccer specific training. Minimum age is 18 years. (12 or 13 years old for teams of 4 and 5 year olds)
