POLICE DEPARTMENT - All volunteer positions in the Police Department require the volunteer be willing to submit to a comprehensive background check and a polygraph examination. For more information contact the volunteer coordinator at 303-658-2159, or email: volunteer@cityofwestminster.us.

POLICE - CRIME PREVENTION ASSISTANT - Assist the crime prevention officers in various projects, including organizing and monitoring Neighborhood Watch and Operation ID programs, child safety programs, Crime Stoppers projects, false alarm monitoring, and any other crime prevention or community relations program. Available volunteers must be available weekdays for 4-6 hours per week.  Requirements: ability to work with data sheets, statistics, maps and people. Must be organized, and capable of dealing effectively with people in person and over the phone and at least 18 years old.

POLICE - PAWNS VOLUNTEER - Volunteers assist the Investigation Division of the Police Department in numerous ways. At present, volunteers are needed to help a minimum of 6 hours per week in the Pawns area. Some of the duties are data entry on items pawned, maintaining statistics, and retrieval of information from the computer. Must be at least 18 years old.

POLICE - PROPERTY SECTION VOLUNTEER - Work with property; telephone owners of property to pick up their property, and contact banks. Volunteer must be available weekdays for 3 to 4 hours per week. Requirements: dependable, basic knowledge of computers, and at least 21 years old.

POLICE - RUNAWAY COORDINATOR - Follow up on reported runaways. Follow up contact with parents and shelters about runaways. Complete paperwork as it relates to runaway reports. Available morning, afternoon or evening, seven days a week. Requirements: dependable, knowledge of computers, and at least 18 years old.
