The City of Westminster Adopt-A-Street Program was instituted in 1989. Volunteer groups pick up litter along a one-mile section of roadway for a one-year period. This popular program has continued to grow throughout the years. Presently there are 63 groups under contract, committed to cleaning 48 miles of arterial street rights-of-way each month. Since the inception of the program, thousands of bags of litter have been picked up.
