Wolff Run Open Space
Wolff Run Open Space – Northeast corner of Sheridan Boulevard and 76th Avenue.
Wolff Run Open Space extends from Sheridan Boulevard to Wolff Run Park along the north side of 76th Avenue. This 16.18-acre open space was acquired by the city in 1996. The city used both public land dedication and open space funds to acquire the property. The 15.5-acre Wolff Run Park (built in 1980) forms the eastern boundary of Wolff Run Open Space. Wolff Run Trail extends from 76th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard at the Little Dry Creek Trail to 78th Avenue at Wolff Street. The trail follows Shaw Heights Creek. Wolff Run Open Space is mostly vegetated with native grasses. There are some wetland plants along Shaw Heights Creek. The open space provides some nice visual “breathing room” along both Sheridan Boulevard and 76th Avenue in south Westminster.
There are no formal trails within the open space. However, Wolff Run Trail extends from 76th Avenue just east of Sheridan Boulevard to about 78th Avenue and Wolff Court mostly on the edge of the open space. The views into the open space and mountains beyond are attractive.
