Ranch Open Space
Southwest Corner of 120th Avenue/Pecos Street.
This 18.9-acre hillside open space preserves a wonderful remnant of Westminster's agrarian past along busy 120th Avenue. The property was purchased in 1989 and preserves over 1,290 linear feet of frontage along 120th Avenue and 890 linear feet along Pecos Street.
There are no trails or public access on the property. Rather, it is used as a pasture for horses much as it has been for many decades. In the spring, there are often colts in the open space.
The signature elements on the open space are the historic barn and windmill. The barn was recently restored and moved about 200 feet from its original location onto open space property. The barn and windmill are Westminster historic landmarks. Learn more about the history of the Ranch Barn.
To see the barn and horses, take Tejon Street south of 120th Avenue and park along the street or in the parking lot for the 5-acre Ranch Park, which abuts the open space. There are beautiful views across the open space from this vantage point.
