Children's Public Tile Project
This program was supported through the City of Westminster, Department of Community Development as a project under the South Westminster Revitalization efforts. The South Westminster Arts Group administered the project since its inception in November, 2009, treating it as an art outreach opportunity and offering it as a free, hands-on art activity at a variety of festivals and events hosted by SWAG and the City of Westminster, including the Rodeo Market Community Art Center Grand Opening Celebration, the Historic Westminster Arts Festival, the City of Westminster Summer Celebration, Historic Westminster Orchard Festival, the Westminster Faire as well as at SWAG sponsored Second Saturday Art Walks. The 432 tiles that were painted by community children attending these events were installed in September, 2012.
