U.S. 36 and Westminster Promenade Underpass
This underpass under U.S. 36 is located just north of 104th Avenue and provides access between the Westminster Promenade and Shops at Walnut Creek retail projects. It also provides access to the Regional Transportation District Park-N-Ride and future commuter rail station. The facades of the underpass are clad in faux red flagstone with painted metal railings. Signs direct users to the two retail projects. The underpass area is lined with cast concrete panels designed to resemble an aspen forest and features wide sidewalks on each side of a two-lane roadway.
The underpass is designed to be modified to accommodate a future bus rapid transit station in the middle of U.S. 36.
The bridge opened in 2005 and was designed by Transystems. The City of Westminster paid the construction expenses.
