City Park Bridge over Hyland Creek
The City Park Bridge over Hyland Creek provides access to Westminster City Park from 104th Avenue, east of Westminster Boulevard. The bridge was formed over arched, ribbed metal and is covered with a combination of red brick and stucco. A band of brick accentuates the arch shape. Four pyramid-capped brick columns line each side of the bridge. The brick materials match those used on the wing walls facing 104th Avenue, which includes a sign for City Park. The bridge provides an attractive gateway and sense of arrival into City Park. The bridge also abuts the City of Westminster Armed Forces Tribute Garden.
Various firms were involved in the bridge design, including Wright Water Engineers, Contech, Monroe and Newell Engineering, and DHM Design Corporation. The bridge was completed in 1998.
