Tree Limb Recycling

Residents are encouraged to recycle their tree limbs to reduce landfill use and provide valuable mulch. Limb chipping and free mulch are available for Westminster residents. Please bring a valid Westminster I.D. for residency verification.

The limb drop-off site (see map below) is located on the south side of Standley Lake and can be accessed through the "old" main entrance to the park, which is a gated entry on the north side of 88th Avenue between Independence Drive and Kipling Street.

Residents can recycle their tree limbs on the last Saturday of the month, March through October, from 8 a.m. to noon. Limbs can be any length, but must be less than 8 inches in diameter. Shrubs are allowed if the root ball has been removed. Free mulch is available ONLY on the last Saturday of the month while the supply lasts. Call 303-658-2201 for mulch availability.

Off-loading of limbs is self-serve, and mulch can be self-loaded into your containers or staff can load mulch into the back of your pickup.

Inclement weather: Please note that the limb recycling/mulch pickup could be closed due to inclement weather and excessive moisture will often lead to event cancellation. Please check the Event Calendar on this website or call 303-658-2201 for cancellation/rescheduling information.

For more information on the program, please call 303-658-2341, or contact John Kasza, city forester, at 303-658-2559. For a printable flyer for this program please click here.
