Municipal Services Center Energy Reduction
The MSC houses several city departments, including fleet maintenance, streets operations, building operations and maintenance, and utilities operations. With a variety of needs, the MSC uses a host of operating and equipment installations that serve as a model and laboratory for new ideas. Employees manage energy by instituting:
- Vehicle no-idling policy (when appropriate)
- Room occupancy sensors - reduce energy usage during off-peak hours
- Reduced lighting in common areas like hallways and foyers
- Roof solar panels
