Street Improvements

Westminster’s Pavement Preservation Projects

Westminster’s Department of Public Works & Utilities’, Street Operations Division administers approximately $2.4 million dollars worth of street improvements annually and utilizes a computerized Pavement Management Program to prioritize the appropriate pavement preservation strategy on the city’s 195 streets.

Several preservation strategies are employed for the 89 miles of roadways i.e.: cracksealing, slurry seal, chip seal, micro seal, reconstruction, etc.  Identified curbs, gutters and sidewalks are replaced in conjunction with street improvements.

Residents on the streets scheduled for improvements will be notified at least 24 hours prior to any construction.

Lane lines are repainted citywide twice each year, while other pavement markings are repainted and/or restored once a year.
