Community Development

The Department of Community Development has the overall responsibility of assuring the proper planning and development of high quality residential and business neighborhoods, as well as designing the transportation system to serve them.

The department provides "one stop shopping" for residents and businesses by consolidating project review, permit and inspection function within one city department. Our overall mission is to continue to improve the quality of life, transportation system and employment opportunities for Westminster citizens. Each of the department's four divisions has a key role in fulfilling this mission.

Administration Division - Overall operations of the department including the online permit manager.

Building Division - Permit and code information, plan reviews, applications, fee schedules, rental inspection program.

Engineering Division - Public improvement standards and specifications, storm drainage design and specifications, digital submittal standards.

Planning Division - Planning and zoning regulations, fees, design guidelines, applications, forms and checklists.
