Herb Atchison was first elected to City Council in 1997 and served two terms before leaving because of term limits. Atchison has previously served as a member/chairman of the city’s Special Permit and Licensing Board for 16 years and also served as a member of the city’s Planning Commission after his second term on council. Atchison returned to Council in 2011.

Atchison volunteers with the Westminster Parks, Recreation & Library department. He is also a volunteer with School District 50 facilities committee, the Westernaires children’s group of Jefferson County. Atchison is also an adjunct professor at Colorado Christian University and teaches at several of their campuses.

Atchison is a professional project manager and works as an independent consultant to numerous clients in the private and government industries.
