Adventure Pass

What is the Adventure Pass Program?

The library's Adventure Pass program provides free access to explore cultural and recreational attractions in your community. Each pass has different terms and conditions. For specific details on each pass and some general information, keep reading. Or, have your library card and a printer ready and go directly to the Adventure Pass reservation site.

Am I eligible to use the Adventure Pass program?

Anyone with a valid Westminster Public Library card can reserve a pass.

How do I get an Adventure Pass?

Go to the Adventure Pass reservation site and have your LIBRARY CARD and a PRINTER ready.

  • Find the place you would like to visit. You can make a reservation up to 60 days in advance. Hint: Use the calendar or click on the drop down next to the words "Next 3 days" to see more dates. If the pass is already checked out for the date you are interested in, the “Request Pass” button will not be available. If available, click “Request Pass.” Enter your library card number and PIN (last four digits of your phone number) and click 'Continue'.
  • Review the information that displays, particularly the 'Requested Date'. Enter your email and decide whether you would like a reminder. Click "Continue' again. Your pass confirmation/e-ticket will display on the screen - PRINT it now. If you do not have an email address, simply type 'none' in that box. Providing an email address generates a duplicate confirmation page via email for your records.
  • If you are not reserving a pass for the Denver Botanic Gardens or Colorado State Parks, simply take your printed confirmation/e-ticket to the attraction for entry. If you have reserved a pass to the Denver Botanic Gardens or Colorado State Parks, the procedure is different. Please see details below.

How often can I use the Adventure Pass program?

An individual library card can be used for each Adventure Pass venue once each 365 days.

What if ...?

  • I need to cancel?
Unfortunately, once you have reserved a pass, you cannot cancel. However, for most attractions you can give the printed pass to a friend or family member to use in your place (Note: this option is not available for physical passes). Since each cardholder is eligible for one visit per venue each 365 days, another option is to rebook for a different day using a family member's library card.
  • I did not print my pass?
If you you entered a valid email address, a copy of the pass was emailed to you. If you did not, there is no way for library staff to access and print your pass, so you will not be able to utilize it.
  • I reserved the wrong day or library location?
Library staff cannot make changes to your reservation. If either of these things happen you will not be able to reserve another pass for that attraction for 365 days. However, for most attractions you can give the printed pass to a friend or family member to use in your place. However, if you give a physical pass to a friend your library account will be assessed a fee if it is not returned in a timely manner.  Note: Accounts with fines and fees of $10.00 and above will be sent to collection.
  • I don't return a Denver Botanic Gardens pass on time, or at all?
Please be courteous to the next pass holder by returning the pass by its due date. The pass is be checked out to your library card and a fee of $5 will be assessed if the pass is not returned by the due date. If the pass is lost, an additional fee of $10 will be assessed. Note: Accounts with fines and fees of $10.00 and above will be sent to collection.
  • I lose, damage or don't return the Colorado State Park pass, backpack and/or its contents?
Passes and backpacks returned late will incur a $20.00/day late fee. If the pass, backpack and/or backpack contents are missing or damaged, you will be charged a replacement fee as follows: Pass: $35.00 - Backpack: $4.00 - Colorado Trees and Wildflowers Pocket Guide: $3.75 - Colorado Wildlife Pocket Guide: $3.75 - Binoculars: $19.50.  If the entire backpack and its contents are lost, you will be charged $70.00.
