Open Registration for Fall Activities Is In Progress

The lottery for Fall 2009 activities has been completed and receipts have been mailed.  You can print a receipt utilizing the On-Line Registration service.  Other services offered through On-Line Registration include viewing your history including class registrations and cancellations, reprinting receipts, printing a handy household calendar, printing household rosters, printing child care statements for tax purposes and changing your username and password.  Open the On-Line Services (PDF, 474kb) document for more information.

City Park Recreation Center Renovation

Major renovations are underway in City Park Recreation Center's aquatics area and locker rooms.  The aquatics area (inlcuding all pools, steam room, sauna and hot tubs) and locker rooms are now closed for renovation.  The renovation is expected to be completed in early 2010.  Click here for more information on the renovation including a photo gallery of the renovation process.  Thank you for your patience during this time and we look forward to providing you with a better recreation experience upon our re-opening.

Online Registration

The Department of Parks, Recreation and Libraries now offers a convenient way to register for most recreation activities via the Internet. The online registration is a "live-time" registration process that registers participants directly into the software database. You must have a user name and password prior to registering and the person you want to register must already be in our database. Once you have been assigned a username and password and your family member information is in our database, you can register for classes, view class availability, reprint receipts, and view household class history.  

If you have not been assigned a user name and password, can't remember your user name or password, or you need to add a family member to your household, please call one of the following locations:

Three-Time Winner of the National Recreation and Park Association Gold Medal Award
Westminster Parks, Recreation and Libraries is a three-time winner of the prestigious National Recreation and Parks Association Gold Medal Award for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management.  This award honors communities throughout the U.S. that demonstrate excellence in long-range planning, fiscal resource management, citizen support systems, environmental stewardship, preservation, technological integration, program planning and assessment, professional development, and agency recognition.  The City received the Gold Medal Awards in 1991, 1999 and 2007.  The City was also a finalist for the Gold Medal Awards in 1990, 1998, 2005, and 2006.

Parks and Recreation Master Plan 2004-2009
The City of Westminster's Parks and Recreation Master Plan is perceived by staff as a vision of what the City's Parks and Recreation program could be in the future, as well as a plan to make that happen based upon available resources at any given time.  This document uses National Recreation and Parks Association's (NRPA) guidelines as well as the City's own new set of standards based on working knowledge of the Westminster community's needs.
