 Westminster Historical Society

Incorporated in 1962

Westminster Historical Society is an active organization dedicated to the preservation of Westminster Area History.

The Westminster Historical Society meets the third Saturday of each month at Bowles House Museum, 3924 W 72nd Ave at 10 a.m.

in our newsletter "Historically Speaking" for one year.

We take pride in our ongoing programs:

  • School visits to share local history - 1969
  • Hometown Christmas - 1987
  • Historic Preservation Award - 1995
  • Bowles House Museum - 1988

The Westminster Historical Society has either placed or helped to place five properties in the Westminster area on the National Register of Historic Places, including:

  • Bowles House
  • Pleasant DeSpain Building (Harris School)
  • Gregory House
  • Pillar of Fire (Westminster University)
  • Union High School
